Alpha’s project success stories tell the tale of an Architectural studio that has creativity and flexibility. Our architecture team is led by our Director of Architecture, Rebecca Key.
The projects here at Alpha are as unique as the staff that created them. Our architectural studio is committed to creating the client focused design that is the foundation of Alpha’s vision. Through the implementation of Building Information Modeling, computer generated renderings, and the latest design technology, Alpha’s creative team supplies the client with more than just building plans.

Architecture
Alpha recently completed the long-awaited renovation to the 1953 residential portion of Norwood Fire Station.
Our new layout approach allows crew members access to individual bunk areas, all new toilets/shower rooms, a dayroom addition, and with an exercise room relocation, there is additional apparatus storage.
The Safe Haven Baby Box, now located at Norwood Fire Station, is now the 2nd blessed Baby Box in West Virginia and 217th in the Nation.
Safe Haven Baby Boxes are designed to provide a way for babies 30 days old or younger to be surrendered safely & anonymously. The boxes are monitored and climate-controlled 24/7. New mothers can drop their infants in the Safe Haven Baby Box by opening the door and placing the baby inside the bed. They also have an option to take an orange envelope with resources. Once the exterior door is shut, the box will lock, and emergency personnel will be automatically notified.
The installation of this baby box is to assist people who are new parents, and for a variety of stressful reasons, just can’t feel comfortable in bringing the baby into the world and raising the baby themselves. So, in place of being at a loss for options and abandoning the child someplace undesirable, they have the option of doing something that’s safer.

Ms. Key has worked in the architectural field for over 35 years. She serves as Project Architect/Project Manager for numerous architectural designs at Alpha Associates, Inc. Ms. Key is involved from the programmatic stages and schematic designs all the way through construction documents to construction administration. Having been with Alpha since 2000, Ms. Key has provided design services on numerous projects that have contributed to the ever-growing skyline of Morgantown, Charleston, Bridgeport, and other areas around the state.

Government
Over the years, Alpha has renovated and designed multiple attractive and sustainable civic structures that help make government more efficient and helpful. We believe that spaces that work for both the public and the employees who spend time in them every day contribute to better government.
Historic Preservation
Alpha has participated in multiple renovations of Historic properties. We are assured that an accurate historical record and its significance as it pertains to the existing structure, and modifications can be thoroughly documented, should various funding grants require an in depth historical narrative.
Sports and Recreation
Over the years, Alpha has designed recreational and sports facilities for state and municipal communities, and education campuses. We combine the skills of landscape architecture, civil engineering, and interior design, to create facilities that fit communities, athletes and fans to come.
